"The Diamond Path: A Guide to the Art of Healing" (Trafford Publishing, Victoria, B.C., Canada; 2006) is a book inspired by the nation-wide attention and intrigue with diamond massage therapy.  Written by healing arts practitioner, Magnolia Polley, "The Diamond Path" is more than a history of non-traditional healing.  It is a practical guide, offering a new perspective on the science behind the creative energy of healing.  The book highlights the use of stones, the importance of light and color, sound and vibrational healing, aromatherapy, and circadian rhythms.

The Law of Octaves teaches students of healing how to manage the physical vibrations that exist around us and harness them in the appropriate way to encourage healing" (p 17).

Recognizing the powerful link between memory and aroma, Polley explores both the use of medicinal plants as an alternative to commercial pharmaceuticals, and the use of aroma-therapy as an elemental tool when performing bodywork.  She provides a brief history and basic definitions of key concepts about the physical and spiritual realms that impact health.

From the Chakras (described in Indian tradition) and the SCN or suprachiasmatic nuclei (described by Westerners as the body's natural energy regulator), to human auras, earth energy and biofields, Polley outlines the range of elements that can play a role in health and healing. With clear and concise writing, Polley makes this range of topics intelligible.  But she does not stop there.

With the foundational theories covered, the second half of this book offers practical guidance for the use of specific activities (prayer and visualization) and objects (diamonds and other gemstones) for healing.  Polley describes the energy and potential health-value of each stone. And she provides a sensible guide for cleaning stones and jewelry to ready them as tools for healing.

For the massage therapist who desires to expand her work to include the use of diamonds, Polley offers three diamond therapy protocols.  Each is detailed, step by step in a manner that makes them practicable.

While it may be most desirable to observe Polley in action in order to learn her diamond therapy techniques, this text is the next best thing.
